AUGUST, 2009 CLASS SCHEDULE

Please note that the THERE ARE SEVERAL CLASSES (description and cost at the end of this class schedule) THAT can be taught at any time for one or more people.  All you need to do is arrange a day and a time.

 

 

 

IMPORTANT CLASS INFORMATION

 

  • Please make reservations for classes no later than one week in advance of scheduled class date.
  • Class fee is due at the time of reservation.  A 24-hour notice is required for class cancellation; registration fees will be refunded in the form of a store credit, IF 24-HOUR NOTICE IS GIVEN.
  • PLEASE plan on arriving at least 30-45 minutes before scheduled class time to pick out your supplies.
  • Four and five hour classes include a lunch break.  Feel free to bring a packed lunch or you can chip in on pizza or other carry-out.

Lisette Earrings – Thursday, August 6, 6:00-9:00 pm - $35.00 plus supplies – Vicki Star – Easy Peyote-stitched triangles, beautiful flowers, and darling daggers make up this great little earring.  Whip up a pair for every outfit.  Skill level:  Beginner




 

Wire and Crystal Knit Bracelet – Saturday, August 8, 10:30-1:30 pm; - $35.00 plus supplies – Sharon Hessoun.  Sharon will teach the old but new technique of knitting with a wooden spool.  You will also be able to make necklaces and ankle bracelets with the same technique.  Warning:  This is an addictive bracelet!  Skill level:  Beginner



 

Creative Earring Class, Saturday, August 8, 2:00-4:30 pm -- $38.00 (includes wire supplies) – Melissa Muir –  Have you ever wanted to learn to make your own earwires?  In this class you will make many templates of different earwires in copper and one finished pair in sterling silver.  



 

Fringed Pendant – Saturday, August 29, 10:30-3:30 - $45.00 plus supplies – Vicki Star – Here’s a simple pendant, made fabulous with flowing seed bead and crystal fringe!  Vicki will discuss blending colors and learning fringing techniques.  Make it as simply or lavish as you like!  Skill level – Beginner

 


Russian Ruffles – Thursday, August 20, 6:00-9:00 pm -- $35.00 plus supplies – Sharon Hessoun -- This bracelet is St. Petersburg chain and more! Learn this Russian technique and add to it to make this beautiful bracelet.  Combine seed beads with pearls or crystals for a jazzy, ruffley-edged bracelet. This is a project that you'll want to make over and over in different combinations!


 

 

Peyote Pizzazz – Saturday, August 15, 10:30-3:30 pm - $45.00 plus supplies – Debbie McCormack  -- This is the second of our new classes this month.  You will make a peyote cuff which you will embellish with seed beads and then add a crystal picot edge.  You’re going to want to make more than one of these – we guarantee!!!  Prerequisite:  Peyote.

 

 

Wire Wave Cuff - Saturday, August 22, 1:30-4:30 pm - $45.00 plus wire kit and beads – Melissa Muir --  In this class you will work with multiple gauges of wire to create a whimsical frame for a cuff bracelet.  Melissa will then discuss different ways to embellish the cuff bracelet with many different types of beads, both large and small. Students will learn how to attach multiple layers of materials together with various stitching techniques.    We will also discuss different ways of shaping and hardening your bracelet for maximum strength and durability


Students should bring the following: Round nose pliers, chain nose pliers, flat nose pliers, wire cutters, chasing hammer (slightly curved face is best), steel block.  Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to class start time to pick up your kit and select and purchase the beads required for this project. Students will not have time to do this once class has begun.



 

 

Viking Knit Bracelet - Thursday, August 27, 6:00-8:30 pm -- $45.00 plus supplies – Melissa Muir -- This ancient technique is as beautiful and elegant as it was thousands of years ago. Students will learn the various techniques and tools needed to create this stunning chain. It is a deceptively simple chain to make. We will discuss the process of knitting with various gauges of wire, working with draw plates and other such tools. We will finish by attaching various findings such as end cones and clasps.
